For the odd plant, hand weeding is the quickest, safest and the cheapest method. For the treatment of large areas or many plants, you may have to use a product designed for the species in question. There are as many products available as there are species to be treated. Your local garden centre is the best place to seek advice about which product would most suit the problem you have. Ensure you tell them if you have children or animals, as many of these products are toxic. Always follow the manufacturers instructions fully.
